William G. Cimino, MD
Dr. William G. Cimino is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon specializing in Foot and Ankle Reconstruction. He is a University of Notre Dame alumnus who received his medical degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha. He completed his orthopaedic residency training at the San Francisco Orthopaedic Residency Program in California and continued his education with a fellowship in Foot and Ankle Reconstruction at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York. During his fellowship, he gained extensive experience in treating elite athletes with foot and ankle injuries, as well as dancers with the New York City Ballet and the American Ballet Theatre.
Dr. Cimino practices general orthopaedic surgery, treating patients of all ages, with a subspecialty focus on Lower Extremity Reconstruction. He utilizes the most current nonsurgical and surgical methods for treating athletic, pediatric, traumatic, rheumatologic, and degenerative conditions affecting the lower extremity. His expertise ranges from treating bunions and hammer toes to performing limb-salvaging operations.
His professional affiliations include memberships in the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery, the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society, and the Connecticut Orthopaedic Society, of which he is a past President. He is on the medical staffs of Bridgeport Hospital and St. Vincent’s Medical Center.
